I’m thinking of moving to Toronto or Vancouver after high school-would they be good fits for me?

I’m a junior at an American high school(in Massachusetts) and I’ve been thinking of going to UofT or UBC. I’m very introverted but I still have no problems making friends. I love the idea of living in a city that is multicultural, as I love to learn about other cultures. I’m very into the indie music scene. I enjoy talking about politics yet I don’t often get the chance because most other teenagers where I live don’t seem as interested in them (I’m very liberal by the way). I’m sure this makes me a complete nerd but I want to go to the World’s Largest Bookstore in Toronto so badly, haha.

Which city has a better music scene?
Do you think I would enjoy one more than the other?
I have a 3.33 unweighted gpa (88% average in Canada) so would I be able to get into the two schools that I mentioned?
After university and eventually med school I want to be a psychiatrist. Is either city better for that career path?

Thank you for taking the time to read and answer this:)

It really comes down to which city you prefer, and which university provides the courses you want, but if you want my opinion, I’d say Toronto is a better option for your career choice. Toronto is a much bigger city, with more job opportunities. It’s close to other important cities like Ottawa, Montreal, and New York, and it’s also closer to where you live now, so it would be easier for you to visit friends and family back home.

Both cities are multicultural, but Toronto is more, and it has a real cosmopolitan feeling to it, that you just don’t get in Vancouver. If I were to compare the two cities to Americans ones, I would compare Vancouver to Los Angeles, and Toronto to New York. Vancouver is more of a hippie city, whereas Toronto is more known for business opportunities.
If you wanted to go into the marine, shipping, or forestry industry, Vancouver would be perfect, but I’m not so sure about med school.

Another city you might consider is Montreal. McGill University has an excellent health science program, and living in Quebec would give you an opportunity to learn French, if you don’t already know it.
